Privacy and your choices

InternetSpeedGeo operates this website without requiring an account. Local history, server submissions and third-party requests are separate data flows. This page explains each of them and how to contact us.

History on your device

The browser stores up to 50 completed results, including time, metrics, server and available provider, area and connection labels. Language and privacy choices may also be saved locally. Export or clear history from Reports, or clear this site’s browser data. Local history has no time-based expiry; deleting it does not delete a submission already sent to the server.

Automatic contributions and retention

A successful home-page test automatically attempts to submit a result ID, country, selected network mode, provider, measured values and method. The server adds a timestamp and a salted hash derived from network request information to limit repeat submissions. This is pseudonymous processing, not a guarantee of anonymity; public rows contain provider averages, counts and update times.

Averages use a rolling 90-day window. That window is not a deletion deadline: older stored submissions can remain until removed, and no fixed automatic deletion schedule is currently promised. Contact privacy@internetspeedgeo.com about stored submissions.

Cloudflare measurement

Starting a speed test sends measurement requests and payloads to Cloudflare, which receives the IP address and ordinary connection information needed to answer them. The library’s optional measurement and AIM logging endpoints are disabled in this integration; that does not disable Cloudflare’s own operational processing.

Location and maps

The home page and IP tool request public-IP information and use ipwho.is for approximate country, provider and location. This can happen when these tools load. The estimate can be wrong. OpenStreetMap serves map tiles; Nominatim receives submitted place-search text and request details. The map’s location button asks for browser permission and may use device location. Coordinates center the map and affect the tiles requested; precise coordinates are not part of the provider submission.

Google analytics, ads and consent

Google Analytics is used to understand site usage when you opt in. Analytics tags wait for that choice. Advertising uses Google AdSense and a Google-certified consent management platform where required. Google and the vendors disclosed in that interface may process request information, cookies or identifiers according to your choices. The consent interface itself needs network requests. Use the footer’s privacy controls to review or withdraw choices; browser settings also control cookies and location permission.

Hosting and messages

Namecheap hosting processes IP addresses, request headers and access or security logs to deliver and protect the website. If you email us, your email address, message and attachments are processed by us and the email services carrying the conversation. Do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary personal information.

Purposes, providers and rights

We process information to provide requested tools, preserve local preferences, produce provider summaries, prevent abuse and answer messages; optional analytics and advertising choices are handled through consent controls. Service providers may process data in other countries under their own policies. We do not promise their retention periods or that every transfer stays in your country.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, withdraw consent, or complain to your data-protection authority. Write to privacy@internetspeedgeo.com with enough context to find the relevant information. We may need proportionate verification; an accountless service cannot always link an aggregate record to a person.

Updates

The dated policy is revised when the described practices change. General support and corrections go to hello@internetspeedgeo.com; privacy requests go to privacy@internetspeedgeo.com.

Privacy details

The Google consent interface loads through an AdSense script with ad requests paused. This initial request itself sends Google your IP address and ordinary browser information; it does not mean you have accepted advertising. Optional Analytics stays unloaded until the consent interface reports a grant. If the interface is blocked or has no valid choice, optional advertising and Analytics remain off.
